St Paul’s is proud of the dedication of its staff.

This centre is licensed to take 58 children each day. All staff are under the leadership of the Director of St Paul's Childcare Centre. Staff members work in shifts to ensure the adequate and required ratio of adults to children at all times. There will always be two staff present. Staff attend in-service training and have childfree preparation time.

Staff in charge of your children have the appropriate early childhood qualifications as specified by the Child Care Regulations. The most common qualification for our staff is the Diploma of Education: Child Care. All staff have current First Aid Certificates. The centre encourages all Assistants to complete the Diploma of Education: Child Care.

We have trainees at this centre. Successful trainees graduate with a Certificate 3 in Children's Services. The period of training is 12 months full time.

STUDENTS AND VOLUNTEERS

Throughout the year we have various students and volunteers visiting us from colleges and schools. These students are often our next generation of care givers. We aim to ensure that high quality care and education for children is established and maintained in the future. As our centre is an advocate for high quality programs we also see ourselves with the added responsibility of providing learning opportunities for students studying to enter the professional field of early childhood. To ensure all children receive competent care givers in the future, we greatly encourage students and volunteers to receive hands on experience. This practical experience gives them the opportunity to develop professionally in the early childhood field. On all occasions a staff member assists students and volunteers. They are not left unattended with your children.
