on Commencement:- (1) 1 box wipes (2) 2 boxes tissues We encourage you to dress your child in
clothes that are comfortable and easy to manage with sleeves. We encourage
self-help skills; therefore it is important that your child is able to pull
their pants down for toileting and changing their clothes with ease, if
necessary. It is also important to remember that your child is very busy at
the centre and is encouraged to participate in some very messy play
activities. We suggest that clothes appropriate for play should be worn to
the centre. The centre will supply a named hat that
belongs only to your child and will be given to your child when they leave
the centre. If we need to supply your child with a going
home nappy there will be a charge of $1.00 placed on your child care fees. Activities in the
Honeybees In the Honeybees’ room we provide children with a variety of activities that are developmentally appropriate for the different stages of each child’s abilities. We provide children with activity centres which promote fine motor skills. Children will start off hitting and tapping on them and during the year they will develop more skills to be able to press buttons and turn things. We provide activities that encourage physical development such as: · Toys to reach for when crawling; · Toys on the shelf or hung on the gate for children to reach for; · Push along trolleys, mowers, and things to pull themselves up on. These activities are designed to help children to feel confident when beginning to walk.
We encourage each child’s social interaction with others by interacting with each child We also help by role modelling positive interactions through Home Corner. This involves dramatic play that helps children’s language development and co-operation with others. Children of this age are interested in everything in their whole environment including sounds and movements around them and wanting to know where they are. We would just like to let you know that we like to follow your home routine to make your child’s stay in child care as easy for you and your child as possible. |
